Spectrum Sensing Proposal

PROJECT PROPOSAL In this project, a mobile phone application which works in android operating system is aimed to improve. Basically this application will be a program that shows which frequency channels use and power levels of wireless networks,detecting wireless networks around its when wireless network connection of a mobil phone which has a wi-fi function is open.

During this study, we aim to develop this application which is in the mobil phone adding some different features with spectrum sensing features used in Cognitive Radio (CR) applications. Three different detecting methods are developed related to spectrum sensing; matched filter detection, energy detection, and feature detection [1]. In our work, we will try to make use of these three methods related to CR. We are going to develop our program on App Inventor which is a free Android application development site of Google.

If our study moves on as we planned, we aim to generate a new feature by adding Radio Environment Map function to our application. With this function we will be able to show wireless networks map used on CR applications such as in [2].
