Close Reading
Review all close reading handouts. On the test, you will be asked to read a portion of the play that we did not closely study. You will be asked reading comprehension questions based on the passage. This will be similar to all the close reading we did for this unit.
How should I Study?
o Review ALL the handouts from the unit.
o Review key scenes—when Romeo and Juliet first meet, the balcony scene, the climax, the ending and others that are integral to the play.
o Complete the Elements of a Tragedy Handout. There more thorough you can be, the better. Turning in this completed handout on the day of the test will earn you 5 extra credit points!
o Read the Prologues to each Act.
o Read the summaries for each scene.
o Create flashcards for the unit terms. Add examples to these cards so you can identify a rhetorical or literary device when you see one.
