I found the movie “Too Hot Not to Handle” pretty interesting. It had several things that I did not know about and which I found to be really interesting. The movie gave great examples of situations and opinions of actual scientists, which makes it more credible. Where people get their water supply, how the ice poles are melting, and the alternate resources for power where what I was intrigued by the most.

I never knew that there where states that relied on snowpack for their water supply and I was amazed when they said that in Western states, 75 % of their water supply comes from snowpack. I never knew that people were being affected so much by the warmer climate and the less snow. It never crossed my mind that something as simple as snow could have such a negative effect on us. I said in the video that a lot of our fresh fruit come from states that rely on snowpack.

The effect that global warming is having on the ice poles was interesting as well. It is something that I had heard, but never really looked into it until watching this movie. It kind of helped to understand it a little bit more. It is something that is pretty interesting to know that this is going on. As it keeps getting warmer the ice caps are going to melt and sea level will rise and just wondering how long it would take for us to realize that the sea level has risen. In the movie it spoke on how much the sea level would rise if Alaska, Greenland, or Antarctica were to melt completely and how certain coastal coasts would be lost because of it. Definitely something that I believe we should be aware of.

The different resources that is available for power was also something that intrigued me. In Texas they said that they were using wind turbines and how over a million homes would be powered by wind turbines. Being able to get power just from wind is definitely something that should be used more. Also how solar reflectors could also help power our homes was intriguing to find out as well. In the...
