Many people complain that they hate their jobs. It is only the lucky few who seem to be very happy in their daily work. Clearly, enjoying one’s work is very important as we spend so much of our lives doing our work. Three factors that help people to enjoy their work more are the sense that they are somehow helping others, that their salary is sufficient for their needs and that the workplace is transparent.

The main thing that makes a person happy in their work is the knowledge that they are helping others. Humans are born with a need to help and serve others. Without this element in their lives, they often feel unfulfilled and disinterested. Nurses, teachers and firefighters, for example, often express satisfaction in their work because they feel they are helping others. Clearly, being able to really assist others would make most people contented with their jobs.

Another obvious factor in job satisfaction is a decent salary. Indisputably, it is crucial for everyone to have an adequate income to cope with the world’s rapidly changing economy. Moreover, paying for daily needs, such as food, accommodation and education is becoming more difficult, especially for married people with children. It is clear that getting a good salary is still a big priority for people with jobs.

Last but not least, the interesting and varied work is also an important condition for a person to be happy in their job. It is true that people love to working at a company that full of creativity, rewards and laughter. For instances, people will

try to think of themselves as creative and unique to gain more confidence from their manager and having more benefits like vacation time. In short, a stimulating and exciting work will not make people feel bored in their job.

To sum up, we should try to help others in our work besides aiming for a good salary and good work practices in our places of work. So much of our lives are spent at work and it would be a great shame if we could not...
