Ethics in Criminal Justice Administration Analysis
Ethics are people’s opinions of what is right and what is wrong, how things should go, and how people should live. These basic ideas are what give us human being our ethical coded and determine how we feel about certain situations. Professional behavior is how the administration expects its men and women to act and perform while in a professional setting or out in the field. Business professionals are thought of in one way and required to act in that manner (“Ethics in Criminal Justice,” 2004, p. 1-15). Critical thinking in relationship to ethics and professional behavior comes down to how they were raised and their mindset, along with what they perceive as right and wrong or good and bad. Police, lawyers, judges, corrections officers, administration, and other professionals with in the criminal justice system use critical thinking everyday when they are working with clientele, these men, and women look at many situations daily and have to make the decision if the people they are watching are doing right or wrong things. then react with the proper response in order to keep the community safe for the reset of the citizens in the community. These professional men and women have to use their critical thinking caps, this critical thinking cap helps these professionals know if the person they are watching is actually breaking a law or just doing something that the criminal justice professional feels is ethically wrong. When these criminal justice professionals use their critical thinking caps, it help and advices them on how to remain professional, instead of putting their own believes and opinions on to others in the public and the community.
