Growing up I was raised to have strong Christian beliefs. My grandparents, mother and older sister was very heavy into church but I have to admit that I have slacked off a great deal. Don’t get me wrong I still believe in and love God with all of my heart but I don’t attend church that often, but I also believe that you do not have to be in church to talk to the lord because he hears all of us no matter where we are. My religious beliefs are Christian but my Ethnic group will be African American.

Since I have knowledge of Christen beliefs the religion that I choose to write about will have to be an Orthodox Jewish and for the ethnic group I am choosing Asian. The reason why I am choosing to write about the Asian culture is I have no knowledge about this racial group what so ever.

An Orthodox Judaism religion is different from Christianity for many reasons but the main reason it is the most traditional form of religion. Orthodox Judaism is the strictest adherence to traditional Jewish practices and beliefs. Orthodox Jews also believe that both the Torah (first five books of the Hebrew Bible) and the Oral Torah (Interpretation Torah) states the laws of Jewish followers and those they must be followed. This is one difference from the Christen faith and that is there are many Christian denominations and they are Catholics, Lutherans, Anglicans and Baptists. There are also many difference between the two religions but the one that I have interesting is the Jewish faith takes there holy day the Sabbath. I found this interesting because there are many Americans that do not think of Christmas as a holy day. Christmas in my opinion should be the only day that we celebrate because this is the day that our lord and savior was born.
