1. Summary

Contained in this report are three candidates for a proposed new member services upgrade. The current Member Services system has been in place for many years. During this time the company has undertaken large growth and the system cannot adequately support the demands and needs.

The first candidate is the purchase of a commercial off the shelf package. This solution supports Member Services requirements and the current business processes would have to modified to accommodate the software. Security may also be an issue with this system.

The second system would be to write a new application in house using new company standard VB. NET and SQL Server databases. This option would fully supports user required functionality and would be receptive to everyone.

The third option is to rewrite current in house application using Powerbuilder. This also would fully support user- required functionality. The recommended candidate based on factors such as operational, cultural, technical, and economic feasibility would be the second option, whereas to write a new application in house using VB. NET and SQL databases.

2. Introduction

The current Member Services System has been in place for 10 years. Within this time frame the company has increased its customer base by 500%. Initially Soundstage Entertainment served clients within a localized demographic. Today the company now works with customers globally. An upgrade to the current member services system will further enhance company productivity as well as interactions with the customer. Loyalty and response times for customers will increase.
