, my presentation is about buying a service from the consumer perspective.

I like my kitchen and I like to cook in a neat modern style. I’m fond of cooking and spend lots of time around the kitchen.

Slide 2:

Recently, my kitchen needed some maintenance and installations had to be changed. So I contemplated buying the services of a plumber for minor renovations, just in case the kitchen looks like this:

The purchasing process went through 3 main stages. They are as follows:

Pre-Purchase Stage

The pre-purchase stage begins with need awareness and continued with information search and evaluation of alternatives to deciding whether or not to buy a particular service.

Slide 4 Need awareness

1- Need awareness was created by the following:

Physical conditions: my kitchen plumbing was in a terrible state. The water in the area is hard, and maintenance around the house was at a minimal for some time. this would not make cooking an enjoyable chore.

• External sources: several external criteria were what created the need to shop for services.

: promotion of a certain plumber’s reputation in the area was ahead of him. Everybody recommended him when asked about a reputable plumber.

2- Other alternatives were searched, to better understand and evaluate the plumbing service needed. None was found to be feasible: cost wise, time wise and expertise wise.

3- This lead to the decision of buying this certain plumber’s services. I called him with awe and asked him to pay my kitchen a visit.

direct contact to the plumber: I called him on his phone, asked several questions on his experience, and the nature of the job needed, his availability, and time needed for the process to finish. Moment of truth of buying the service was close by. He gave me all the answers I...
