Case 8.2 - R3 Technology: Improving Recruitment and Selection

1. What changes does R3 Technology need to make in its recruiting process?

First, Josh needs to conduct an appropriate job analysis. He needs to analyze the work environment that he is placing his employees in, to make sure they can do the work they are expected to do. Next, he needs to create a list of responsibilities and duties that his employees understand and can accomplish. After they have understood all responsibilities and duties, he needs to observe and record all sales tasks that his employees achieve while they work so he can make the proper adjustments if needed. After he has completed his job analysis, a proper job description is needed. Instead of hiring people he associates with, he needs to hire employees with proper experience. R3 Technology needs to begin by having appropriate application forms. Once they have the application forms, they can begin setting up interviews for potential employees. Whether the interview is in-depth, over the phone or face-to face, Josh can still evaluate the person to see if they are right for the job. 3. How...
