Just call me Marl..

We've all had it happen. A haircut gone horribly, horribly wrong is a living nightmare. Everyone goes for their first hair cut without their parents at some point, and going to a new stylist probably wasn’t my best bet. This is that one time where my hair didn’t turn out the way I expected it to be what so ever!

It all began when I went to get my hair cut without the help of my lovely mother. I went in there thinking “Hey, this is going to look awesome!” I mean, it looked good on the girl in the magazine I was so convinced that it would look exactly the same. I guess I lost track of time twiddling my thumbs and thought for a seond “Hmm, I’m hearing a lot of snipping. Why am I hearing so much snipping?!”

In the mean time, the stylist spun me around in the chair to add her “finishing touches”. About 10 minuet’s later there came the time I like to call “The moment of truth”, the stylist began to spin me towards the mirror “and now we’re turning, and…” immediately I cried “oh. Oh my God. Oh my GOD. What is this? I had asked the stylist to cut my cute long curls to my jaw line not a bowl cut with layers.

Just then, I began to think this is the most embarrassing thing ever! She cut it a whole lot shorter then I could have ever imagined. The evil woman had cut it so short that I might as well have gone by the name, Marl. And to make matters worse I had school pictures 2 weeks after that! I literally look like I had been in a fight with a lawn mower. I was so embarrassed going into a new school year with all my hair gone. I began to cry at the thought of what all the kids from the previous school year would say.

In the end, you can cry, scream and feel sorry for yourself all you want, but then you need to get over it. Your hair's gone and tears and pity-parties will not make it grow back any faster. When all else fails just smile.
