Nero Claudius Caesar Avgvstvs Germanicvs

(Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus)

I am doing my essay on Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus or his more common name known as Nero. Nero ruled from 54 to 68 A.D. and is remembered for his perverse mind and persecution of Christians. His advisors had been Sextus Afranius Burrus and Lucius Annaeus Seneca a stoic philosopher. Both of them did most of the work while Nero was living a life of pleasure. Nero had ended secret trials and had given the Senate more independence. He banned capital punishment, reduced taxes, and allowed slaves to sue affair unjust owners. He helped cities that suffered disasters, had given aid to the Jews and opened competitions in poetry, drama, and athletics. He was a brilliant architect and well educated, was recorded to have been a man of considerable talent, ingenuity, and energy. He...
