Leave Children Make Own Decisions

Parents think that their teenagers are not mature enough to make decisions. Therefore, they always make decisions in their place. However, parents should rely on their children if they want them to make the right decisions. How can adults know whether their child is able to make the right decision, if they have never given him/her a chance? A teenager can learn more if he/she experienced the world by him/herself. Thus, parents should not make decisions instead of their children.

The first cause why parents should not make decisions for their children is that teenagers have enough knowledge to make their own decisions. In other words, children go to school, study, and learn skills that they can use to make their own choices. They also learn different things in order to apply in their real lives. Moreover, adults might think that teenagers do not have enough experiences to make vital decisions. However, if parents make decisions, the child will always be dependent on them. In addition, children should make own decision in early stage so that they get more experience. To sum up, parents should let their children make their own decisions.

The second cause why parents should not make decisions for their children is that teenagers need to develop a sense of responsibility. Parents cannot be near their children all their lives. In fact, children should know how to deal with problems because, sooner or later, the child will be in situations when he/she must make his/her own choice. For example, at the university, he/she has to leave home and live away from his/her family. Consequently, he/she will be obliged to deal with the new environment and with problems. Moreover, children will probably meet difficult troubles in their future life, so parents should allow them to start from simple decisions in order to prepare them for the upcoming difficult ones.
