Law and Ethics

There are many individuals who think that they can honestly say that there can only be one right answer to any legal question one might have. But, in all honesty, is that in many situations that come from any type of a legal controversy, there is not a single correct answer to come from it. There is a lot to take in, information wise, to be gathered for each individual case, the information that one has given someone could either be inaccurate, or incomplete, and in some cases, even fraudulent.

The law is given to people as a rule or code of conduct that has been established by a type of agreement, or authority (Fremgen, B., 2009). The rules that are behind these laws are simply there to guide individuals, and when these laws become silent, one must depend upon their ethical insight in order to guide them. “Law is a system of principles and rules of human conduct prescribed or recognized by society and enforced by public authority.” (Rodriguez, R. 2009). This means that many individuals understand that there is a code of conduct to abide by, which is enforced by the society that they live in.

Laws are rules or actions that are prescribed by an authority such as the federal government and the court system that have a binding legal force. Speaking of law and ethics, can sometimes become confusing when studying; there are many different situations to consider in each event, and this is where our moral code of conduct comes into play, if someone is speeding in order to rush their child to the hospital due to a very bad injury, then this has to be considered quite ethical in order to save the child.
