Assessment and Workplace Observation Discussion

Darla Brockman

Analysis:

In analyzing my dimensions of behavior I find that I am The Go-Getter. I am less open and less indirect than most other Steadiness styles. Despite my somewhat indirect nature, I can be very direct in situations that are task-focused. My ability to think through a project makes me a good short-term planner; I can identify the roles, resources, and timelines needed to complete a project successfully. My search for results leads me to be highly self-reliant, rather than to depend on others to achieve the quality I want.

Individual Predominate behavioral style

My behavioral style is Steadiness Style. This is a slower-paced and relationship-focused. I am open and indirect, relatively unassertive, warm and reliable. I am sometimes seen by others as compliant, soft-hearted and acquiescent. I seek security. I take action and make decisions slowly. I tend to be very people-oriented. I tend to be a good, active listener and generally develop relationships with people who are also good listeners. I focus on getting acquainted and building trust.

Strengths

My primary strengths are caring for, and loving others.

Weaknesses

My primary weaknesses are that they are somewhat unassertive, overly sensitive and easily bullied.

I agree with this DISC Platinum Rule totally. It really says what I have lived my 50 years of life. I am a people pleaser and I love helping others and I tend to sit back and listen when spoken to. I also think that sometimes I have a sign on my head saying talk to me I will listen. Total strangers come to me and ask my opinion. That is a gift I guess and I love being who I am....
