Multicultural Literature Narrative Essay
Multiculturalism is well discussed as a controversial topic and has been a government policy that is managed as a cultural diversity. In terms of the government policy helping people around the world to have a deeper understanding of different cultures. The different races and religions generate tolerance, integration, and economic development.
In the early years of my life when I was old enough to know what my race and religion was, I became accustom to socializing with my peers. Soon after when it was time for me to attend pre-school, I never gave much thought of what other children and teachers beliefs were. How they lived and what race and religion they were and believed. It was then when I notice my classmates and including teachers were different than I was. Being sheltered with the same race and religion, I didn’t notice other people outside my inner circle had different beliefs. At a young age I grew up sheltered and inexperienced of what the world outside my inner circle was like. At such a young age I thought everybody was one race, one religion, one inner circle. I didn’t understand my parent’s advice when they took me to school saying “you respect others but do not follow and believe what they say.”
Growing up and being a teenager, I still didn’t give much thought of others religions and what they believed in. I knew by then everybody was different and my inner circle was expanding with different beliefs. I did not care what my friend’s religion was and what they believed in. I had very much respect for them as they did for me. Although I was starting to experience racism from my friends parents, feeling I was a bad influence.
