Rich-Con Steel has some options for their next step.

Option one is to continue using their new system and train employees to use it properly and because the Rich-Con has already spent money on purchasing and installing the new system this has the benefit of costing the least. Training the employees to use the new system correctly and completely will stop them from sidestepping it by using the old system. That being said, this option needs to also include steps for dismantling the old system so people can’t use it regardless. Beyond training the employees this option will also require that Rich-Con have resources beyond training should system users have questions.

Option two is to discard the new system and start over. Although Rich-Con has already spent a substantial amount of money on buying and implementing the new system, its failure could lie in a severe insufficiency of business specific features. By hiring someone to implement commercial software, or to create a custom system, Rich-Con will ensure that the software has all of the features and support that they need and currently lack.

Option three is to revert back to the old system. This old system, although outdated, being run on very old equipment, and lacking some key features, was doing the job well enough in the past, despite the fact that not every factor was the most efficient. This reversion will be able to be done temporarily, while a new system is being created or until the equipment finally breaks too much to be repaired. By choosing this option Rich-Con will still need to work on a new system to integrate when the time comes.

Option four is to configure the new system with custom codes. This new system lacks features that certain departments need to properly do their tasks and by creating custom codes these tasks be doable. This option does nothing, however, to stop employees from bypassing it.
