Introduction

According textbook, it says “Consumers are never far from advertisement, product packages, radio and TV commercial, or billboards that clamour for the their attention” (). In the most time, people’s shopping behavior are passive, depends on variety of factors, such as advertisement, personal wants and needs, or vanity. Consumer behavior is a philosophical methodology to analyze people’s buying. For example, how to define need and want how these factors to affect people’s behavior? In the report, perception and motivation are two functions to assess my own personal consumer behavior, in order to identify my personality: whether emotional or rational human.

Perception

Image can give more directly information to consumers. Even though a picture is simple, it gives more meaningful information to people. In this part, I would like to choose an awesome advertisement picture that named “Extra hot shrimps”, because it gives consumers more easily and directly to understand the meaning of this picture.

There are two major elements in the picture: one is a woman’s hand, another is a pair of chopsticks, and the top of this chopstick is burned. Sometimes, people just use eyes to gain information but people needs more thinking to get correct or deep meaning. Here is a good example to tell people that simple picture also bring huge meaning to consumers. It has few words at the bottom of picture: “JONG HWA” restaurant described by Chinese and English. The background of the advertisement is kind of white, and no others decoration. This advertisement is simple but meaningful to consumers. People can fully understand it is a Chinese restaurant when they saw the chopstick in the picture, because it is a powerful symbol to represent a food culture. Difference with western people use folk and knife, Chinese people use chopstick as tool more than thousands year.

However, it makes people more confuse when they see burning chopstick in the picture. The...
