Maintain Integrity of Redundant Virtual Disks (Every 30 Days)

If you have created a redundant virtual disk, the Check Consistency task verifies the accuracy of the redundant (parity) information. This task only applies to redundant virtual disks. When necessary, the Check Consistency task rebuilds the redundant data. The Document attached will allow you to scheduled it using windows task scheduler and the cli command (OMSA installed).

 

To launch the Check Consistency task in Open Manage Server Administrator:

1 Expand the Storage tree object to display the controller objects.

2 Expand a controller object.

3 Select the Virtual Disks object.

4 Select Check Consistency from the Available Tasks drop-down menu.

5 Click Execute.

6 Check the Alert log when completed for the requests.

How to check the alert log in OMSA for check consistency details. 

1. Open OMSA and Select “System” on the left hand side.

1. In the top properties bar choose “ Logs.”

1. The hardware log will show be default. In the properties bar again choose the sub tab “Alerts.”

1. Review the alerts for Check consistency.

 

Using OMSA 6.5+ to view CC Report.

1. Open OMSA and expand System.

1. Choose  and expand “Storage” on the left hand side.

1. Expand the PERC controller in the tree.

1. Expand and choose "Virtual Disks"

1. On the right hand side you will have a drop down that says "Select Report."

1. From the drop down choose "Check Consistency" and execute. (This will filter the alert log and display the consistency information. )
