Abstract
This paper looks into the relationship between sensationalism in the media and the audiences’ reaction toward the sensationalized elements. We examine how different types of media, i.e., radio, cable news, newspapers and network news can influence a person’s attitude. We researched several notable cases and the effects on society as a result of all the media attention. There was high profile cases researched. There were also cases that should not have been a high profile cases but as a result of so much media attention they were made huge in the public eye. Upon completion of our research, we’ve come to discover there is a connection between what the media reports and its influence on public opinion.
