Organize analysis paragraphs by dividing a complex subject into its parts. In the following paragraph by George Russell, the topic sentence introduces the term crying (in the first sentence), and the following sentences break this term into its elements:
Crying is a very complex phenomenon built up out of emotions that no human being can explain. The act of crying can range from emotions of joy and happiness, to hurt and despair. When there is a sense of overwhelming joy, humans sometimes are at a loss for words and as a result, express themselves through emotions. Crying is one emotion that can express joy at a wedding, a reunion with a long lost love, or even the birth of a new family member. However, the act of crying can also be a show of despair. Humans cry for many reasons, but one common element is the feeling of emotional pain and hurt. When there is a death, humans react by crying. When other people hurt us, humans naturally react by forming tears in the eyes as a means of expressing our pain. In a sense, crying can also be a stress reliever for many people.

Descriptive paragraphs consist basically of sentences representing objects arranged in space. In its simplest form, the principle of organization is based on the way you perceive objects in space--left to right, right to left, bottom to top, top to bottom, and so forth. In writing descriptive paragraphs you make the scene easier to follow if you use a particular principle of spatial arrangement:
