Walt Disney’s Organizational Commitment and Communication

An organization’s leadership style creates it culture and position on communication. Walt Disney’s Company leadership style is open management and communication. The Disney Corporation communicates its vision to employees to inspire. The company prides itself on honesty, openness, dedication, and hard work. The Disney Co. chose employees who can align personal and organizational goals. The Disney Corporation is successful today because of its leadership style. This essay will confer different methods to their leadership style. It will examine the diverse source of power in the organization. This paper will identify the motivational theories that affect the culture of this organization. Last, it will describe commitment of the workforce to the organization and their association to the organization’s communication.

It is necessary for the Walt Disney Co. to have leadership that inspires creativity and new innovations. Situational Leadership style would destroy this company. Situational leaders focus on the follower readiness to act. This style of leadership lacks the motivation Disney employees need to be creative. Also this leadership style requires the manager to be actively involved. Disney communicates the mission and through goal alignment, employees perform. The need for micro-managing is not obligatory.

Although Path-Goal leadership style coheres with Disney’s style of leadership to a degree, the removal of road blocks for the followers does not align with the mission of Disney. This style of leadership does not present any valuable qualities for the profitability of the Disney Corporation.
