Meaning of Life

These past five years have been a turning point in my life. Not to many people are as lucky as what I have been these past five years. I met my fiancé, my wonderful step children, got my dream job, had my daughter, and we are just three weeks from getting married. When I was a senior in high school I set many short and long term goals for me. One of my goals was the settle down with my own family and go to college. Within five years I have done that. I would say the trait conscientiousness is a huge part in my life because it means that you are a self-discipline person, and you set goals and you reach them. I graduated five years ago, and I am sitting here today and have achieved a lot of my life goals. I am a very self-driven person who loves life. I believe that you have to set small goals in order to make the bigger goals. I am the type of person who if I set too big of a goal it will get overwhelming and I will not achieve that goal, if I set smaller ones that work up to the bigger goal I am more likely to achieve it. One thing for me these past five years the biggest turning point for me was having my daughter. I never wanted kids of my own, I wanted to marry someone who had already had kids, I never liked the idea of having my own until I had Zada, she is seventeen months old and I am so lucky that I have her, she is what changed my life completely. Having a baby is not easy, but it takes real motivation from youself to achieve the parent you want to be, it does not happen overnight nor does it happen within days it takes a little time and self-motivation.

The theory that really hits home with me is the Intrinsic Motivation and Self-Determination Theory. This theory talks about motivation and determination. I would say that saying a child fits perfect in this theory because it take self-motivation and determination to be the parent you want to be. For me, being a parents came...
