In doing the research for this project, I wanted to show people who try to bring their communities together, whether it is involving citizens in city events, or bringing people who have never seen each other information about the cultures they have.   I am finding that many people are trying to bring to light the racial issues so that people can understand the different cultures and races involved. African Americans that are trying to bring communities together to fight the ugly issue of racism. I went looking through the newspapers and any online source I could get my hands on because I myself have never had any real racial issues to deal with ("Oppapers.com", 2011). I never saw any evidence of it while I was in school, maybe because I was a kid and I just was not looking for it because I never thought anyone was different from me except by color and that did not matter to me because my family accepted people for how they acted not how they looked. I had friends in school who were African American, I had friends in school who were white, and to tell you the truth the only kids I had troubles with were the white kids, they would harass me over my clothes, over my looks and such things like that. I might have faced a form a racism in my 8th grade math class because my teacher would never help me, I could raise my arm while he was walking around helping other students with their questions and he would just walk right on by me, so I turned out to be really poor in math. I believe it was due to the fact my father was a blue-collar worker and the town I lived in was a little town everyone knew every bodies business the population was maybe 1200 people if that. The...
