Synopsis

This paper deals with a Self-Assessment that explores the insights into my skills, interests and abilities that I have confirmed since completing the assessment exercises. The assessment goes into numerous personality and trait tests but more specifically in different areas such as communication skills, decision-making, personality, attitude, motivation, leadership, team skills, and power and conflict skills. The paper describes what I have confirmed about my self-knowledge after completing these exercises and how I intend to apply these self-knowledge assessments to furthering in my management and business career.

The Importance of Self-Knowledge in the Business World

A self-assessment to look into your skills, interests, and abilities will benefit you greatly. It will help you discover what type of worker, either subordinate or manager, you will develop into, to ultimately help you be at your best. In this self-assessment I will take a look at how well I have obtained these skills, interests, and whatever else I need to improve on, to make myself a better person, as well as an employee for my company or future organization. The following pages will describe the factors on personality, decision-making, communication skills, attitudes, motivation, leadership, team skills, and power and conflict skills. Each of these factors has their own benefit of creating a better person as well as an employee to the organization.

In Robbins & Judges 2009 self-assessment quizzes I found out a lot about my personality, decision-making, communication skills, attitudes, and motivation among other categories. The five-factor model of personality is extraversion, agreeableness, consciousness, emotional stability, and openness to experience.
