The clock has just struck 1 a m. Navin has turned the door key to let himself in to an empty room which he now calls his house. And mind you, today he’s a happier soul as he has been allowed to returned a bit early by his manager. Opening a packet of ‘ready to eat rajma’, he has laid down his dinner table. After eating the ‘sumptuous’ dinner and a handful of tablets prescribed by the doctor for the problems which his multinational company and odd working hours have given him as a bonus along with the hefty salary, he is now ready to take a ‘sound’ sleep of 4-5 hrs. After all he has to be prepared for the next ‘working’ day.

 Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise reads an old proverb, something, which now seems more of a fairy tale than a reality. Especially for all those who are a part of the metropolitan cities. A place where time is just slipping off your hands, where all your competitors are just waiting for you to stumble, where the cut-throat competition doesn’t let you think of anything but work, where if you want to be wealthy, you just have to forget about sleep.

 The short story is not just that of Navin but of every individual who dreams big and wants to carve his/her own niche. Development what we refer to has given us lots of facilities but has gradually dragged us away from the lap of Mother Nature. It has just become necessary for the human being to go against nature. And the brunt of which he is bearing but sadly not yet realizing.

 Life has drastically changed in metros. Delhi being a live example of it where life takes a new turn everyday and where each day is a new challenge. From sleeping habits to eating habits, everything has been redefined. People are becoming more and more machine-based, forgetting that the luxurious and easy lifestyle is inviting loads of health problems.
