Patricia Russo leadership style compare to Ernest Shackleton

The ability to effectively manage and positively persuade employee’s performance can be accomplished by developing effective leadership skills of their managers. As a leader, you sometimes need to be conservator of values and know when to change and when to preserve your leadership ability. Many Organizations do not grasp the importance of a great leadership and the connections between employers and employees work satisfaction. In an effective organization being a good leader you will motivate your employees to grow and strive to do their best towards the goals of the organization. Leaders, whether it be the CEO of the organization you must anticipate forces that will cause changes, identity opportunities that is required to help in the organization goals, however, when a person is a goal seeker and have a drive to succeed I believe as a leader this is a characteristic that the person is born with and not made.

In my paper I compare and contrast the leadership styles of Patricia Russo and Ernest Shackleton, two successful leaders. I will give a brief background on the leaders and their followers. I will compare both leaders in the term of power and influence, values and ethics and will identify which two leaders is the more effective leader.

Leading at the Edge is about Sir Ernest Shackleton a man who has somewhat been known as a great leader after saving the lives of 27 men including himself after being stranded in the Antarctic for nearly two years. In 1914, Shackleton and his team set sail aboard the endurance bound for the Antarctica. Shortly after Shackleton and his crew set sail in the treacherous water of the sea, their ship became trapped in an ice pack.
