Leadership Assessment Worksheet

1. My career goal mainly is to achieve a position where I feel that I can put all of my skills to work. Irrespective of the leadership position, I want to work where I have the opportunity to champion myself and at the same time have the opportunity to learn new things every day. Although leadership is not my career focus at this point of time, it is certainly a target I am aiming for in the future. I think I definitely would be a good leader in future who can challenge and motivate my employees to reach a goal.

2. I am aiming for a senior most level of management where I have the chance to not just lead but mentor employees with diverse backgrounds. Being a person not born in United Sates, I had faced a lot of problems networking and getting a mentor/sponsor who was ready to guide me. This made me realize the importance of having a mentor and therefore would take up any chance of being a mentor to someone who needs guidance. My main ambition is to work for a multinational company as a Regulatory affairs officer whose ethics and policies are in line with my values and beliefs.

3. In this fast paced world, any kind of organization, I believe, will have two main problems creativity and competition. Many companies to beat the market spend millions of dollars on research and other activities. My main job as a Quality assurance specialist would be to ensure that the product does what it's supposed to do, make sure that it's safe for its intended users. Also it is an important aspect of my job to come up with creative ways of cost cutting without affecting of the quality of product/service offered by the company.

4. Given that creativity can come from the most unexpected of the sources, I would like to have a Participative Leadership style. Also, it is of my personal belief that having an open discussion forum for employees to contribute increases productivity as it is of my personal experience with my previous supervisors....
