Assignment 1

Although a huge progress has been made in the psychology field of study, many people still misunderstood the human behavior. In my opinion, there are many reasons why the researches fail to change some peoples’ views on abnormal behavior. The clinical scientists and the researchers, in this case, used several methods to identify the abnormal behaviors, but there are some road blocks that contributed to why they failed to change other peoples’ views.

One of the main reasons that I feel contributed to why people will not believe in the scientific research is because our body and brain are very complex structurally. Some also believe that our emotions and thoughts tend to be varied. There are so many things that could affect a person’s emotions and process of thinking. With that being said, some people think it is impossible to identify exactly what causes the abnormal behavior. The main reason to why people will hold on to these false beliefs is because when they are in a case study, they tend to act differently than when they are not being watched. The researcher’s personal opinions could contribute to the problem too. We as humans experience the changing in mood, thoughts and feeling, even the researcher. Some people feel that the results of the research may have been based on the researcher’s personal opinions rather than the actual result.

Sometimes other factors such as human and animal rights also create some of the problem to the researching process. Some people might not agree with using animals as an experiment or human in that matter. Some people might also believe that the research provided us with the problems, but not the answer. Other cases include the fact that there are some people out there that are too stubborn to change and accept the new ways of life incorporated with new technologies and researches.
