Case Study for Student Analysis

Carl Robins, a new campus recruiter, for ABC, Inc., is currently facing issues working at his position. He recently hired 15 new trainees for his first recruitment in early April, which is expected to be fully capable and ready to work by July. This case study shows how Carl has shown how lack experience and training for a job can cause issues for him and others. Being newly placed in a work place can be stressful especially learning new roles and responsibilities.

Background:

To begin with, Carl has only been with the company for six months. He is tasked with recruiting new hires and having them go through the proper procedures before starting work. Monica Carrolls, the Operations Supervisor, needed 15 new hires to start working for her by July. On May 15th, Monica contacted Carl about the process in which the new hires needed to go through. She mentioned the training schedule, orientation, manuals, policy booklets, physicals, drug tests, and other ideas, which Carl was tasked to coordinate. Carl showing self-confidence told Monica that everything would be arranged in time. After May 27th, problems arose when Carl was going through the new hires files and noticed issues with applications not being completed, or their transcripts not being on file, and none of them had their mandatory drug screening completed. He also discovered that he was short on orientation manuals that needed to be handed out and the three that he found was missing pages. After finding out this issues Carl decided to go by the training room to book the room for the new trainees’ orientation. When he arrived Joe, from technology services, was setting up computer terminals. Then he reviewed the scheduling log only to find out that the training room was booked up for the entire month of June for computer seminars for the new database software implementation.
