Energy Needs in the United States

We live in a world that has been changing and advancing for many years. New advancements in technology bring more worry of our energy supply. Some people think that we should figure out ways to use other sources for energy, while others think that we can find our current sources in other places. The media has never really explained the differences between the two ideas, causing our thoughts to be based on what we read and hear. The only thing we do know for sure is that our energy sources are becoming very scarce due to the extreme climate changes.

My personal opinion on this issue is quite simple. I believe that if we know we are going to run out of specific resources, we need to start taking action. I think that although it will be costly at first to initiate the use of resources such as wind and solar power, it will eventually pay off in the long run. We are all looking into “going green”, so why not start now. Not only will it save money in the future, but it will also help to save our planet.

It is very hard to have an opinion on this subject, because the average citizen does not have all of the facts. It can be very easy to say that you feel one way about a certain subject, when all you know is the positive aspects of the point. When I read about the opposing views, I start to learn about facts that I may not have considered. I may still feel the same way about my opinion, but I start to have some doubts. Others opinions may bring up strong facts that may cause me to change my viewpoint. If I go back to an article that is based on my opinion, I find more information that brings me right back to where I started.
