“Introduction”

For heaven and earth to conquer love, I am strongly moved by how two people fought their love over the inevitability of time. The novel unfolds how Henry boldly time travels, and with that, I would like my philosophical problem to pitch into the possibilities if time traveling really happens in one’s life. I intend to give the healthy dose of reality for those who’ll be able to read my work…and for myself as well. Meanwhile, I suppose, Henry’s lack of faith in God could turn into different things. And even as Henry can scrutinize all the events that are going on elsewhere, he’s very much aware of the idea that everything is plotted and nothing is needed to be done to change what’s in the future, in the present or even in the past. As of Clare, Henry’s wife, I intend on focusing about all her feelings towards the fact that Henry is a time traveler, how she overcomes all the struggles that came between their true love. And mostly, despite all odds, she did accept Henry as he really is. With this, Henry and Clare’s points-of-view will be very important, so I am focusing on both. But the main problems to be discussed will be coming from my own view.

Henry DeTamble begins to time travel at the early age of five. This time traveling is beyond his control. When he leaves, where he goes, or even how long he’ll be gone are all unknown even by him. Stress triggers him to travel, often, the places and times are related to his own history. He jogs to help him keep calm and stay in the present. As he grows, he did several ways to control his time traveling, such as seeking for the good help of a geneticist, Dr. Kendrick. Henry’s not allowed to take anything with him into the future or past, he always arrives naked and handless, struggling for a clothing, shelter, and food. But he had different practices of survival.
