Managerial Organization Assignment

In this examination of a local small business called Bobs Lounge one will identify the business organizational structure by function. Next one will determine and explain how this type of organization makes Bobs Lounge successful. Then compare and contrast management and leadership strategies that are observed in Bobs Lounge. Last one will identify the evident organizational behavior theories which are observed within Bobs Lounge and how the behavior theories shape the purpose, position, and skill requirements of management. An organization is productive if it achieves its task by transforming inputs into outputs at the reasonable cost (Robbins & Judge, 2011).

Function

Bobs Lounge is a traditional management, which Bob is the sole owner. Bob makes the business decisions for the lounge. Bobs Lounge has a planning process which is controlled by bob, but bob allows his employees to give their input into the activities. The bar in Bobs lounge is run by a barkeeper or bar management named Cathy. The Barkeeper is responsible for the register, liquor, and waitresses. Cathy reports all shortages and overages to Bob, and she also gives Bob the inventory and list of what liquor that Bob needs to buy for the next night. Cathy also is the inside ears that allows Bob to channel new ideas through and receive new ideas that customer present to her. All parties and functions are book through Cathy, and the functions are approved by Bob.

Bobs entertainment function consist of a pool table that the bar holds tournaments for pool teams of other bars. The pool table is also for recreation use, which cost 50 cent just to play and brings customers in to just play and enjoy good drinks and food.
