What Happiness Means to Others

The first person that I interviewed is my boyfriend, Chris. He is a manager of a retail store for three years. Chris just turned 27 years old, so his views would be for the younger generation. Chris is a person that has lived in many different cities and has many views based on where he has lived.

The second person is one of my neighbors that I don’t know really well. Her is name is Christine, and she is a mother of three children. Her husband is from Spain, and she lived in the Netherlands for three years. Christine has lived in numerous countries so she has a worldly view.

Interview with Chris

Question: What would be your definition of happiness?

Response: Waking up every morning, knowing that you have people that support you. Also knowing you have friends to share the good times with. Lastly, being financially secure so that you are able to do the things you want to do in life.

Question: Has your definition of happiness change over time? Why?

Response: Yes, having to adapt because of moving a losing contact with friends.

Question: Are there certain experience that have effected your definition?

Response: Yes, I have had to relocate for work so I have lost a contact with a lot of my friends.

Question: As you get older do expect your definition of happiness to change? Why?

Response: Yes, because of marriage and children are something I want in the future, I know happiness will be different then.

Question: Do you believe that happiness is always achievable? Why?

Response: Yes and no, I believe that it is not always sustainable. Sometimes you get thrown a curve ball and you have to figure out a way to bounce back.

Response: Watching my three little children grow up and my husband and I providing a good life for them....
