Are energy drinks bad for children?
Introduction
Energy drinks are beverages which are marketed to provide improved energy levels; help with weight loss as well are associated with increased athletic performance and mental alertness. The purpose of this assignment is to communicate how to find accurate information about energy drinks and determine if the information is credible.

There are several factors that determine the reliability and accuracy of information provided by websites. Age or timeliness is an important concept that can be used to assess website quality. I would personally look at when the source was published and last updated in order to ensure that the information provided is current. Checking for external links to other credible websites is another good measure used to verify the accuracy of information. In doing so, the researcher/reader can further assess how the quality of information provided compares to what is found on other websites.
Fact versus opinion is another important point to consider when discussing a topic.
When looking for sources, it is always better to obtain information that is factual. Facts can be verified; opinions, although based on factual information, evolves from its subjective interpretation. Therefore, it would make sense to check if the individual or organization is identified on the website in question, as this will likely help legitimize the information. More specifically, the individual’s qualifications or organization’s reputation should be apparent. Lastly, the credibility of information provided on a particular website can be confirmed by the domain field or web address. For instance a “.gov” or “.edu” address is typically credible versus one that may end in something like “.net”....
