Success University Executive Brief: Implementation of Three New Business Programs

The School of Business at Success University (SU) located in Southern California has been tasked with launching three new programs before the fall 2014 term. The three programs to be launched are: A Business Certificate in Leadership, An Associates of Science (AS) degree in Business Administration, and A Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration (BSBA) with a concentration in Organizational Leadership. SU currently offers Associates and Bachelors programs in Business, Psychology and Education at their San Moreno campus and online and is looking to expand its Business department to meet the needs of the growing need for business degrees.

As a leader, I consider myself to be both a Director and Navigator according to the Six Images of Change Management. As outlined in the Six Images of Change Management, the director is designs the change process and answers the “why” questions ensuring that people understand what is going to happen and what is required of them. The navigator however, designs the change process to best fit the conditions faced making modifications as needed. (Palmer, Dunford, & Akin, 2009) As the manager in charge of implementing this change to the Business Department, I will do my best to answer any and all questions asked and to make any necessary changes to the schedule should the need arise.

This Executive Brief outlines to what is required of the team that has been put together to successfully launch the three programs. This team will be split into three teams, one for each new program to be implemented. Each team will have members consisting of faculty, graduates, admissions staff, and student services personnel.
