I, as the director of the regional emergency management office, have received an official

notification about our water supply being contaminated with a biological agent that is life threatening in

several towns in our area. This is a very delicate situation having our water supply contaminated

because our community is in extreme danger. Due to our water being contaminated, there has been a

number of people rushed to the emergency room. We do not have any information as to what has

caused our water to be contaminated. The people that were taken to the hospital have been treated for

symptoms such as nose bleeds, blurry vision, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches and severe stomach pains.

We ask that if anyone experiences any of these symptoms to please seek medical attention as soon as

possible. We will address contingency plans within our organization without creating a panic to our

community. We will do everything in our power to get our water supply back to normal and keep it

under control.

We will be holding a brief conference to make sure that the community knows that we will do

everything that can be done to get this crisis under control and to keep the public’s mind at ease. I am

requesting that the director of the waste water manager and the governor appear at this conference. It

is the job of the office of emergency management to start a group that communicates within the

organization during the crisis. The first thing that this group will discuss is to get assistance from the Fox

group. The Fox group has already offered to come in and help us train people to help our community to

deal with crisis communication and media crisis training. This group is going to teach our community

how to respond to the criticism that we may receive from the television and the radio. It will also allow

us to become familiar with what and what not to say and there will always be some questions that we
