Introduction:
In this paper we are going to talk about criminology in the future and how it will work. We will also look at the future directions of crime fighting and its role in social policy implications. Also in this paper we will look at the potential for specific crime-fighting methodologies, such as using biometrics, implementing cyber crime spyware, or mandating DNA collection programs. After that we will talk about the way law is evolving and look into some of the technologies used to detect criminal activities. While looking into these technologies, we will also look at some of the possible civil liberty or ethical violations that these technologies may lead to. At the end of this paper we will do a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation that includes some major points of this paper, and it will include detailed explanations that correlate with each point.

Technology is infiltrating every aspect of the criminal justice system, from the investigation to the prosecution of crimes. One of the directions that crime fighting is going is the social media aspect. From Facebook to doing a Google search now days have become a common practice. In a murder case in Boston a little while back for example, the prosecutor was able to prove that a person was involved in the killing just by using some images that he found on a social media site. The man went on to say that he was not affiliated with any gang, the prosecutor found a picture on his Myspace page with the gang tattoo on his arm.
