(a) The scatter plot method is the best way to evaluate future demand for the following:

The scatter plot is the best way to evaluate future demand in this case and any case when the employer considers expanding as it shows the relation between the numbers of rooms and the staff using past and present figures. Here, the hotel considers expansion, which means adding new rooms which mean new employees must be hired. Given the number of new rooms and by drawing a graph that passes through the mid-point of the past and present data, we will be able to, easily, determine the number of needed employees.

The two variables in this case are: the number of rooms (Past, present, and future) and the number of employees (Past, present, and we will determine the future).

(b) Computerized skills inventory database:

The hotel represented in Marie in this case is facing two main problems which are

1- High turnover rate. 2-the need for new employees.

It is a chain hotel, means that it is a large entity so the first logical support for this argument would be that; no large firm can locate the qualifications of thousands of employees manually.

Second, this will help her in anticipating the future shortage and in recruiting and training new employees and this will help overcome problem 1 and 2.

Third, there is a lot of work to do for Marie in the next two years, the computerized skills inventory database will help her in the repetitive processed as it will automate the data entry process, the data update process, and it will filter the best employee ,according to the job specifications and the employee knowledge, for new positions.
