Introduction

When it comes to running a company, as a chief executive officer (CEOs) you are in control to managing what works best for the company. Having to decide what’s logic, and with reasonable decisions that will be beneficial to the company for a long run. The importance of an employee within a company is crucial; meaning the employee that is hire defines your company. The issue arises and becomes questionable for a company when their motives onto hiring their employees are unethical. The fact remains when a person’s job is at stake because of discrimination, because of an unrealistic idea that current employees are incapable, of handling their work; or inability to adapt to an incompletion workforce. Discrimination is the unfair treatment onto other’s (a person, or group) that deals with a prejudice about race, ethnicity, age, religion, or gender. Discrimination amongst the workforce is a common issue. In “A Case of Age and Gender Discrimination” Forklifts and Drills LLC new CEO acted on discrimination. Stating that the problem with the declining sales of the company was due to an “inferior sales team” meaning the problem was because of the older male employees and women employees. Once figuring out the problem the employees was then fired, in addiction was replace with younger male employees.

Personal View

Realistically there’s an understanding that a company goes through internal and external changes at times, however when the decision isn’t logical, and are based on an assumption that the company downfalls are on the employees. In this case I believe it was wrong for the CEO and VP for marketing to lay off 75 employees, especially when it’s “individuals who had received excellent performance reviews in the past”.
