Professional Knowledge and Abilities Paper

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is the U.S. association exclusively dedicated to serving the business and public affairs needs of companies that publish computer and video games for video game consoles, personal computers, and the Internet. The ESA offers a range of services to interactive entertainment software publishers including a global anti-piracy program, business and consumer research, government relations and intellectual property protection efforts.

The ESA also works to help parents make sure that children are safe online and playing video games that their parents deem appropriate. They have also worked closely with the ESRB to help create tools and policies for games to help parents make educated choices on their kid’s video games. The ESA also owns and operates the E3 Expo which is one of the biggest and most popular video game experience that shows off new technology and video games of the coming year.

Another association is the ESRB they generally have a child’s protection top of their list. They are nonprofit association that assigns and enforces ratings, advertising guidelines, and helps provide responsible online practices for entertainment software. With these simple ratings on games and other content allow parents to understand block or regulate what their children are watching and playing while at home or somewhere else.

Both organizations help me build professional knowledge in not only a career but a personal life as well. These organizations not only have simple guidelines that let me help not only customers and clients in my current and my future field and allow me effectively inform and make recommendations based on some of the findings these organizations make.
