Automation of work such as business transactions, enrollment and other transactions was the main objective of Information Technology (IT) to make things easier, more convenient and more consistent. Business entities or companies use the power of IT to makes transactions more convenient and more accurate, making business decisions and strategies in an instant for an instant result.
Inventory system, a product of IT, is an effective way for monitoring and tracking products and materials that are transferred in and out of the company’s warehouse or establishment, store or market place usually for accounting purposes. Many companies are using inventory system for their success and growth. Inventory systems have variety of functions and purposes in business. The two main function of inventory system were to promote the sales and shrinkage control. Promoting the sales function deals with availability of sufficient products for the customers whereas shrinkage control function deals with monitoring the occurrence of damage loss, or theft, etc. of the products.
In our country, business entities engages to automated inventory systems to reduce the cost, improve customer satisfaction, and efficiently manage sales and inventory control. So for businesses that still using manual inventory system it is a must for an upgrade for a bigger success in this industry.
