Who Am I?

Who am I? When I ask myself this question there are many words that describe me. I am

a full blooded Native American women, and if that’s not enough social catagories already ( Native American, woman, low income and mixed family),I was adopted at three months old which puts me in the mixed family group. We really are quite the group. I have a older sister with blonde hair and green eyes, an older brother with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, a younger brother with red hair and blue eyes ,like my mother and bald headed( used to be brown) blue eyed father, then there is me , black hair brown eyes and medium skin toned. My mom and dad are my siblings biological parents so we make quite the family photo. Then form there it goes the basic way of a divorced, single parent working two jobs trying to make the ends meet. Good lod American Dream.

For the discrimination thru history part I would have to that it is difficult to pick only one social category when I fit into so many. I believe that all social categories have had their share of discrimination thru out history. So should I go with discrimination against women or discrimination against Native Americans? So I guess Ill go with the obvious discrimination of Native Americans and the taking of their land and moving of whole tribes to reservations and all the broken treaties , over and over again. Even though this happened many years ago there are many more nations trying to fight for their land back and some have won their suits and aome have not. My Oneida nation has one of these suits going on right now,we are trying to get back some of the New York land that was unfairly taken, we hav e won a part of it but there is still along way to go.
