Kudler Fine Foods is a successful enterprise because if the vision and mission of its owner Kathy Kudler. Kudler is rapidly expanding and would greatly benefit from implementing computer technology into its current business operations. Incorporating a computer system would require state of the arts hardware and software programs that will aid management with decision making and strategic planning. The computer system will allow the business to participate in various functions of purchasing and tracking orders along with other e-commerce and internet activities. The purpose of this paper is to explain the benefit of Kudler Fine Foods implementing computer technology and improving its current accounting operations.

According to Kudler’s operations manual, there are no purchasing standards in place. Implementing a computer information system would allow the department managers to effectively order and track products for each location and monitor the function in one central location (University of Phoenix, 2007). The company would benefit from restocking its stores which makes the product readily available to customers. This also will allow Kudler to provide custom orders to its clients as well. Electronic data interchange (EDI) is an example of an ideal electronic communication system Kudler could use when making purchases, payments, and monitoring shipments (Bagranoff, Simkin, & Norman, 2008). Another example of an ideal system Kudler could use to allow management to improve its current operations is groupware. Groupware software will allow management to track sales and therefore stay abreast with inventory.
