Synopsis
The play is based on exodus 2: 7-10 its about two girls, who are overwhelmed with misfortunes and a tragedy of losing both parent. They are taken in by their aunt but things just seem moving from bad to worse. Before, their mother dies, she requests her sister to take care of her two girls. The sister promises but later mistreats these two girls. In the end, the grand-father’s will is read and it changes everyone’s life. The two girls later, see that there is light at the end of the tunnel. They can attest that it is always darkest before dawn and surely God never forsakes the prayers of the righteous.
In connection to the verse just like pharaoh’s daughter requesting Moses’ mother to nurse baby Moses until he is weaned. The aunt was supposed to take care of the girls. This shows responsibility that the aunt neglected, but Moses’ mother did not neglect. Also, pharaoh’s daughter never knew that the baby was going to be a blessing and a savior of his people. In the play the girls end up being the ones to determine the appropriation of the family wealth when they became of age. Thus, their situation that looked like ash became something beautiful at the end!
