When Dexit wanted to create an online marketing infrastructure to complement their powerful back end transaction processing system for its exciting consumer debit system-allowing consumers to make purchases with a simple swipe of their Dexit tag—they turned to their C3 Vertical Partner and to C3.

Dexit has broken new ground in providing convenience and service for merchants across the country. Its premise is simple . . . and elegant. When a consumer makes a small purchase—like a cup of coffee, a muffin, a newspaper or other item—they just tap their Dexit tag on a merchant's Dexit reader. The transaction is recorded, the merchant is paid, and the amount of the purchase is deducted from the consumer’s Dexit account.

Working in concert with their existing point of sale infrastructure, C3' Marketing Dashboard allows Dexit to:

1. Request and retrieve a series of Dexit-defined reports on sales, demographics, trends, spikes and other invaluable information.

2. Trigger customer notifications based on rules (again, defined by Dexit), alerting them that their account needs to be refreshed, explaining why a transaction was rejected, and other alerts and messages.

3. Send out targeted emails based on recognized customer behavior and demographics.

4. Drive continual online promotions to bring Dexit tag holders into participating stores.

To use the tag at a participating merchant, the customers pre-pay funds into their Dexit account and then periodically replenish the account for a fee. Customers can replenish their accounts automatically from their bank accounts, or manually via the Internet, telephone banking, or at Dexit kiosk locations.

The value of Dexit for consumers and merchants is speed and simplicity at the cash register. No cash changes hands.
