Somatic nervous system is activated during emergencies, exercise or vigorous physical activity.

Autonomic is involuntary because we do not exercise conscious control of its activities. Those are the differences.

5. List the 3 types of neurons found in the PNS and their function. Motor - CNS to muscles and organs Sensory - sensory receptors to CNS Interneurons Connections Within CNS

6. Differentiate between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. Be sure to include at least 3 examples of responses controlled by each. The difference between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system is one is “fight or flight” branch, * as it is activated during emergencies While the other is rest or digest” branch, * as it strives to reduce energy. Brain lateralization refers to the statement that the more the different lobes of the brain differ, the more highly lateralized your brain is. Because of brain lateralization, both sides of the brain are not identical and have various specific roles.

8. Describe the principle of contralateral organization.

The principle of contralateral organization states that the right side of the body is controlled by the left lobe of the brain, while the left side is controlled by the right lobe. The principle is the same for vision.
