There are many benefits of a joint effort between police and social services when investigating child physical or sexual abuse. This is very important between investigators and social services because they both play a crucial part when it comes to investigating child physical or sexual abuse. The reason why is one another can back each other up when solving the case, the investigator job is to gather information to solve the case and get important facts. The social services job is to take the information that the investigator gives them and apply it to the case for safety to the sexual abuse or child abuse. First, there is some flaws between the two sides because the two sides have different ways that they organization is quite different, not least in the way decisions are reached. This being said I believe that bringing the two sides together under one roof is the ideal plan so that both side can compromise on decisions making. It has been said that when two agencies that don’t agree usually bring some danger to the child welfare, and put the child at risk; in some cases, of losing their life. I know that both parties have a big fear of this happing and try to avoid this in any way possible. Another reason is when police child protection officers and social workers have a positive working relationship. This is often because one another gain trust and go the extra mile to cover any issues in the system that helps us and inhibits a common understanding. The child physical and sexual abuse were police and investigators and social services most commonly get involved in a joint investigation with social services are those involving direct allegations of sexual abuse, and all cases of serious assault and persistent abuse.
