My Answer

Travel agencies and any other business that is established by providing a service need to constantly rebrand and come up with new innovative ways to fill in the gaps or create interest among consumers. In this case travel agencies must stay on top of the airlines that are usually their cream of the crop. If these airlines start to take away travel agencies market share for airline ticket sales, they need to find out how and stop it. One of the new strategies that I would recommend travel agencies alike to focus is on change, we live in a fast paced society that is constantly changing how we do business and simply live our lives. Create user friendly websites that offer everything any traveler is looking for when going somewhere, and also stick to their roots by offering the ability to contact a representative that can give more details about the services offered or any questions and concerns. Secondly even offering incentives (e.g. travel points, win a free trip, discount on next booking etc) to customers that choose to go through the agency instead direct to an airline, this creates something that the airline itself is not offering which are other airline deals or packages and bundles all under one roof.
