1. Introduction

1.1. Company’s background

Meiden Singapore Pte Ltd was being established on the year 1975. It was established by Meidensha Corporation of Japan. Meiden Singapore has been up holding a reputation as a technological powerhouse in the local and regional power transmission and distribution industry. Meiden Singapore is the only power technology company in the region to span the entire value chain of R&D (research and development), design, manufacture, sales as well as engineering, test, laboratory and maintenance service. Meiden Singapore has been influencing on its technological base to diversify into water treatment solutions, smart grid, pure electric motors and several other eco-age technologies. Meiden constantly consolidates their resources and enhance their capabilities to respond to the varying needs of their customers. Meiden’s main office is located in Tokyo, Japan.

Some of the product and solutions that Meiden Singapore offers are power transformer, distribution transformer, switchgear, active power filter and starter motor. Some of their engineering services are integrated system design with product design and installation, test and commissioning of GIS in collaboration with GIS equipment supplier. Lastly, examples of their worldwide researches are substation project in Bahrain (completed 2009), active power filters in South Korea (completed 2009) and dynamic voltage compensators in Thailand (completed 2009).
