Write a brief overview of the industry

The aviation industry has been providing transportation services all around the world. The aviation industry allows people to travel much faster than most traditional services allow, for example travelling by road or rail may take days whereas travelling by air may reduce that to just a few hours. This has enabled development in different sectors of the economy, for example it has enabled tourism because tourists are able to reach their destinations much faster than if they were to use a traditional mode of transport.

ISP module 1

ISP 1 looks at the growth in the industry and the impact that the growth has had on companies and the economy as well as the economic crisis.

After the world war there was a significant number of airports, the growth of the industry was also supported by the economic boom in the U.S. Therefore with high incomes and a large number of pilots the industry grew significantly. In 2008 the number of passengers decreased by 30% worldwide, the effects of the economic recession in 2011 are minor but can still be felt, the industry has since grown since 2008, with most airlines making it cheaper for consumers to travel by air. For example travelling via Air Asia to national destinations will cost less than Rm100. After the financial crisis of 2009 many companies in the aviation industry were affected.
